TinyURLFree API
Create and manage your own short links programmatically. The API is free with fair-use abuse protection.
Authentication
Create an API key inside your optional account and send it:
Authorization: Bearer tuf_xxxxxxxxxxxx_SECRET
Create a link
POST /api/v1/links
Content-Type: application/json
{
"url": "https://example.com/long-page",
"alias": "optional-alias",
"title": "Example"
}
List links
GET /api/v1/links
Read one link
GET /api/v1/links/{short_code}
Update one link
PATCH /api/v1/links/{short_code}
{
"destination_url": "https://example.com/new-page",
"title": "Updated title",
"enabled": true
}
Delete one link
DELETE /api/v1/links/{short_code}
API keys belong to an account and can access only links owned by that account.
Programmatic URL shortening with account-owned API keys
The TinyURLFree API is intended for integrations that need to create or manage short links programmatically. API access is tied to an optional free account so one key cannot read or modify another user’s links.
Keep bearer tokens private and revoke a key if it is exposed. API limits are fair-use and abuse controls rather than a paid credit system.
Quick steps
- 1. Create an optional TinyURLFree account.
- 2. Generate an API key from the account dashboard and copy the secret once.
- 3. Send the key as a Bearer token to the documented API endpoints.
Common questions
Is the TinyURLFree API paid?
No. The current API is free and protected by fair-use request limits.
Can an API key access another account’s links?
No. API operations are restricted to links owned by the account that created the key.
Can TinyURLFree display a secret API key again?
No. The complete secret is shown once and only a secure hash is retained for verification.
